Urban Hearth

While not technically a bakery, Urban Hearth held a pop-up holiday "bake sale" in December. This chocolate chip cookie is one of the best I've ever had! It was the perfect texture with a crisp outer shell and just-cooked chewy middle. The chocolate chunks complemented the buttery dough, with slight caramelization from a (likely) high-temperature convection oven bake on the outside.

The North Cambridge restaurant is known for it's layered biscuits and novel, seasonal menus. The biscuits with honey butter are also phenomenal, and worth ordering anytime of the year. I'm unsure how often Urban Hearth has a chocolate chip cookie available, but it's definitely one to pick up when available.
