Asaro Bakery & Cafe

A perfectly round cookie with some chocolate poking through and salty flakes on top A cross section of a thick cookie that is mostly chocolate, with dough peaking through

Asaro Bakery is hidden on an unassumming street just outside of Harvard. The throng of people bustling near the door on a Sunday morning were an indication that I was headed in the right direction.

With a full case of pastries on display, everything looked decadent and delicious. The croissant were flakey and the cakes were fluffy. The cafe smelled of freshly baked challah. Asaro is a place to go for a great cafe experience.

This chococolate chip cookie is perfectly round. Having been baked in a way such that there are no thin edges, it's a chewy cookie that's perfect for someone who loves the brownie in the middle of a pan. It has decadent quantities of dark, bitter chocolate and an underbaked middle. An elevated cookie that's not too sweet and with a salty flare on top.

When I next head out this way, I will definitely need to try the bread!
